Begin again

You can begin again

It can feel like you are static or stuck, but in reality, you are always beginning again. Waking up each morning, starting a new day is beginning again. Each time you walk out your door, you are starting a new (even if it is possibly a familiar) journey.

In fact, this present moment is the only opportunity to connect with yourself. You are no longer in the past; the future is obviously not yet here. So rather than dragging around the past, you are free to live the next moment as if it is new because it is. You have never been in this moment before. This moment presents a new opportunity. Whatever your past mistakes, just begin again. Don’t hesitate.

If you tell yourself that you will do that thing tomorrow because of course tomorrow will be vastly different, let now be that moment. Begin again.

The wonderful thing is that you get this choice every day and indeed every moment of your life.

There is a common belief that you will be happy, more content when you achieve or attain something. But we really never arrive. Every day we start again.

In our yoga asana practice, each practice begins in child’s pose and ends in corpse pose. We cycle through Sun A and then through Sun B. We flow using our breath and pause in postures noticing our next inhale and following in through to the next exhale. Like so many principals, yoga mirrorslife. The practice is to begin again and again and again each time we come to our mat.

With that freedom in mind, knowing that you can be less tethered to the past, you are free to live this next day, this next breath, as if it was a new one. Indeed it is a new breath that you have never taken before.
